About the client

The brief was my own: clean, opinionated WordPress themes for makers and indie publishers. Lean Themes was the side business I ran for a few years to sell them. I designed the brand, the marketing site and every theme that shipped (the LeanWP front-end, blog, blog post, shop home, product, search and cart templates), plus the launch creative for the Kickstart theme. It was the first time I had to be the client, the designer, the developer and the support inbox all at once.
